Re: Van Tilt

This will fit a '71 with a 3speed? If i use a floor shifter? Can I just get a delete plate of some sort for the shifter on the column? @uncle

Re: Van Tilt

The only way I've ever seen it made into a floor shift column is to grind off the area where the shifter goes and fill it in with something. The upper bowl will also move where the shifter was if not locked in place but I guess that would be a matter of personal preference.

Re: Van Tilt

Can you take some more pics of it, specifically where the shifter goes...doesn't seem like too big a job to make it work for my application, assuming the ball socket for it is nice and tight im interested...

Re: Van Tilt

The tilt mechanism is tight. Not sure what you're looking for as far as pictures but here's a few more. There will also be two screw holes when you take the indicator off and you may want to shave the pointer area but that's up to you.

Re: Van Tilt

The length of the shaft at the bottom which can be fixed by collapsing your intermediate shaft. Location of the neutral safety switch. Also have to add both rubber and metal pieces that mount column in truck but can be done by bending shift lever and not dismantling.
