72 Door Panels in 71 Doors
I came across a 72 C-50 flatbed guy is scrapping. I didn't see much that would be of use on a pickup except the door panels. Can you retrofit the molded plastic interior door panels into a 71 C-10 ? Anything else usable

Re: 72 Door Panels in 71 Doors
The 72 door hole patter kind of overlaps the 71 screw pattern on the bottom which makes it hard to drill, it can be done though. Top is easier because the holes are small, I don't recall but they might be so close to make it hard to drill the new hole.
Going from 72 to older panels is hard too but doable. On the top you can just put screw in the chrome piece in a different location to hit solid metal. On the bottom again its kind of hard because I think the hole pattern is slightly different, but you can install nut inserts with some fiddling around. 72 door panels really need 72 window regulators and door relays otherwise the door handle and window crank fit really tight to the door panel. |

Re: 72 Door Panels in 71 Doors
The big truck doors are the same as regular trucks but the cut the front lower corner off to fit the big trucks, lots of times the big truck doors are real nice and you can weld the corner from a regular doo onto it. Big trucks often have tach dashes and air pressure or vacuum gauges too.
