Show me your exotic intake setups
I am about to pull the trigger on this brand new setup for my truck.
Anyone else have an exotic intake setup (non-LS please) or cool air cleaner setup (LS ok) they would like to share?

Re: Show me your exotic intake setups
Yeah those side draft webers look cool on the foreign stuff but would you look at that exhaust system.

Re: Show me your exotic intake setups
I don't know if it counts as "Exotic", but it was "Expensive". I had Hogan build me an EFI intake. In this case it was to clear the hood on my Camaro, but it'd fit my truck too :-)

Re: Show me your exotic intake setups
I always thought the Cross-ram intake that was available on the 302 Camaro's were damn cool.

Is that your Z? How do you keep the carbs so clean? I inevitably get some fuel staining.

Re: Show me your exotic intake setups
One of my friends has a 69 Camaro convertible he bought new. Ordered with cross ram. Hated it so took it off almost immediately. Has it stored away, not for sale.

But no Z/28 was ever ordered with or built with a cross-ram intake. They were available through the dealership parts counter. A dealer could install one, but most were owner-installed. Since they're never on the build sheet or paperwork, like any over-the-counter-part it's impossible to tie one to a car, or to say a car had one from day 0 even. I have a new Z06 Corvette with some Z07 option parts, installed by the dealer and paid for with the same check, but they're not RPO ordered to the car. In 20 years it's my word against the build sheet... That's about as close as you could get with a cross-ram too. Sadly they're not worth as much anymore now that they're repopped with the Winters foundry logo and part number and everything. They used to be as rare as hen's teeth.

Re: Show me your exotic intake setups
That is one damn good looking engine. I love the Caddy air cleaner.

Re: Show me your exotic intake setups
I think that that is a Buick "Star Wars" air cleaner?
And yes, that is one sanitary setup!

I know close to zero about Camaros. Ive just seen a lot of pics of his from way back when he first got it. Had a cross ram and 4 spd. Never asked him if it was dealer installed or what. I believe he has every receipt for everything from when new. All I know is its pretty cool a guy in his 70's has the 69 Camaro he ordered brand new.

My F.I.R.S.T. TPI. May not be exotic, but it looks and performs great.

Re: Show me your exotic intake setups
Not mine, and not even a GM, but for wild induction you have to give some credit to Chrysler in the 60s for the "Super Commando Cross Ram" setup. Though I bet the TPI setup above isn't that far removed from this, they curve and fold under, whereas these are unwrapped overtop. Could be the same length!
Looking it up, the TPI is 25.5 inches including the 6 inches in the cylinder head, so 19 outside the head. Doesn't seem that far off of this...
