Guys, I have a 1972 GMC C20 that I want to install a brake controller for the electric brakes on my trailer. Where is the brake signal? Any pics, video and/or instructions? I can't find anything on the search fuction, maybe we need to ban it from this site, lol. Thanks

Not sure what brand brake controller you are using, but this may help.

Re: Brake signal for trailer tow controller
hes needing the brake light signal for the brake controller. it uses the brake light signal to determine when to apply the trailer brakes.
look for the brake light switch on the brake pedal and tap into that wire. while your down there make sure its adjusted right so that it turns the lights and signals the controller at the proper time. as in turning the brake lights on before the brakes start grabbing.

Re: Brake signal for trailer tow controller
Ok, gotcha. I thought I already used that light switch under the dash but I didn't check it with a test light. I'll check it this time with a test light to make sure it turns on when pedal is pressed and that its adjusted right. Thanks.

Re: Brake signal for trailer tow controller
Should be a white wire, the orange wire is hot all of the time.
