tranny/tc probems
Is is possible for tranny fluid to enter the T/C? My tranny has been giving me problems lately and actually is out as we speak. I notice a leak from the T/C and thought I had a bad front output shaft seal. When I went to drain the fluid to replace the seal in the T/C the thing was overfull by almost two quarts-the leak that I thought was the front seal ended up being fluid pumping out the top of the breather tube on the T/C. The tranny was low almost the same amount so it has to have come from there...it is practically impossibe to overfill a T/C because once it starts coming out the top filler hole, its full. If tranny fluid did get in the T/C does that mean the front seal on the T/C is damaged or does the pressure just force it in or what? Any comments? GM Is installing a new tranny today for me. I installed a GM reman 10,000 miles ago and it has been junk ever since so GM is replacing it today for me, so they are aware of the T/C fluid situation as well-I just want a second opinion.

Had the same problem. My problem was a bad front T/C seal. When my tranny would get hot the fluid would pass through the rear tranny shaft and leak into the T/C, then the T/C would build up pressure and shoot it out the vent tube. This is a very common problem. Replace the T/C seal and you should be good to go!
