cut springs,replace or spindles
going to drop my 69 panel 4/5. On front end I have been told 2 coils should give 4" but that's limit. Question is am I better off cuting old springs, buying new lower spring, buying drop spindle or combonation.
Looking to improve handling and ride quality. Realize having both means giving up a little at each end.

Re: cut springs,replace or spindles
I'd probably do drop spindles or coils and spindles..cutting that much off a coil will, have you almost bottomed out just sitting still..on my 85 I cut one full coil and dropped it about 2in..but its bottomed out on a big bump before

Re: cut springs,replace or spindles
Drop springs go with spindles then springs if you go lower

Re: cut springs,replace or spindles
Drop spindles keep the geometry the same (or real close) and you don't loose any suspension travel. So that would be my first choice. Then if you need more drop I would look at the springs, keeping in mind to much and you are going to deal with bottoming.
