wanted- big block chevy parts
i finally decided to go with a big block, now that my `68 won`t be my daily driver. any size is fine, NO TALL DECKS. whatever i can find the cheapest and easyest is what i`ll build. a complete builder would be great but seperate parts is fine too.

I'll be stripping a 73 Burb in a few weeks for a friend. Has a 454 that lost a bearing or something. Havn't dropped the pan yet. Motor is complete from fan to flexplate. .030 over on the pistons from a rebuild about 10 years ago. Very well cared for motor, suddenly lost oil pressure on the freeway. I think the oil pump shaft snapped. The guy changed the oil every 1500 miles. Oh, yeah, he had it balanced when he rebuilt it. Prolly not balanced now though
If your interested, I can find out more info. |

A motor with a spun bearing is very expensive to repair, If at all.

bb chevy
I have a 396 long block (only) It is a .030 bore 1966 396 with steel crank, forged pistons. It it standard on the rods and mains with no spun bearings- this block and crank are in great condition. It does need rebuilt. I have 063's for the heads, they have been hot tanked-but not magnafluxed (yet). They are the large oval ports for the 396. These heads will give 9.5 compression with replacement pistons from summit ('').
I'm in tucson and I want 250.00 for the combo. E-mail me @ garyalmaw@netzero.net warrens69gmc |

I'm in Spokane WA. I'm not sure what he's asking for the motor, but he's been told its worth $300-$400 since its a complete engine. I don't know if its a spun bearing or what. It will be at least a couple weeks before I can get into it. |
