What are factory steel wheel options for our trucks?
Wondering what factory steel wheel options are there for our 5 and 6 lug 2 and 4 wheel drive trucks? My understanding is the 3/4 ton owners have it a little easier with most 8 lug wheels fitting. But what about us with 5 and 6 lug trucks? Any other GM, Ford or Dodge steel wheels that fit. What about 15" 16" and 17" diameter options?
I know the 10 slot 15X7, and 15X8 commonly referred to as the "truck rally" comes in 5 on 5" and 6 on 5.5" but are there other options? I'm especially interested in 17" steel wheels for the 6 lug trucks, Blazers and Suburbans.

Nissan Titan wheels are a common swap. And there are the 22 inch transit wheels.

What about these 17 X 7 1/2" that came on the 03-17 Explorers, F150s and Lincoln Navagators

Re: What are factory steel wheel options for our trucks?
There's a lot of options for wheels. Measure the back spacing and bolt pattern of those wheels you're interested in, or google it. Nearly any wheel or the correct bolt pattern will fit with spacers if that's something you're willing to do. Your option for 17" tires is going to be limited however, as they don't have near as large a selection as other tire sizes.
Do you have those wheels laying around, are you just trying to bolt "something" on, or are you genuinely interested in those Explorer wheels? |

Re: What are factory steel wheel options for our trucks?
Guys with muscle cars with 14" rims are all being forced to go to 15" or larger rims and tires. I think eventually the same will happen with the 15" LT truck tires. Just an example per Tire Racks web site BFG All terrains come in 8 15" sizes,18 16" sizes and 20 17" sizes.
There are a ton of low mileage 255/75/17s because every other person in Colorado owns a Jeep and the 1st thing they do is put over sized tires on them. I can buy a used set of BFG muds for cheap. The steel Ford rims are $100 a set of four.
