my '59 truck build
Hey guys I've been a member here for the last couple years, constantly referring back to this site for inspiration and information as I go through my build. I'm newbie at this, this being my first restoration and it's great, I'm constantly learning something new all the time.
The truck is a '59 chevy, was a longbed stepside, that I cut down to a shortbed. I've installed a CPP mustang II kit up front, the plan is to swap a 5.3L and auto tranny into it along with a camaro rear end. |

Re: my '59 truck build
So far I have patched or replaced the following sheetmetal:
-outer and inner cab corners -center section of rear cab wall -front hinge lower hinge pockects -patched front lower vent housing -both cowl vent bubbles -brow section above windshield(inner) -windshield lip -misc. floor, rocker, firewall, grill support, step, glovebox area patches Currently I am trying to fit front fenders and doors, things are lining up good but I need to keep tweaking panels to get them right. I've been doing this using the original hinges I was trying to salvage, but I'm leaning on replacing them. I just got new hinges in the mail along with door hinge pockets patches. I may need to patch the lower door hinge areas or repair them, hopefully that will help tighten things up. |
