I have done both. I guess it depends on what you are trying to build. If you are going for a show truck, buy the new if it is going to be a driver clean up the original stuff, if it isn't all beat up.....

Depends on the condition. If you are lucky your trim isn't too bent, rusted, or just beat up in general and you should be able to restore it, but if not then you are going to have to buy new trim which can get expensive.
