Chrome trim on windshield rubber
Does the chrome trim on the rubber seal HAVE to be used when installing the windshield? I don't care if its on there or not plus, wouldn't it be easier to install if its NOT on there?

Re: Chrome trim on windshield rubber
You can put it in afterwards but I think it is easier to do before hand. I don't think it makes it any harder to install.

Can it be left off? I really don't want it on there.

Re: Chrome trim on windshield rubber
If you buy the rubber that is used without it.
There are two types: https://www.prp.com/product/detail/1...ickup&type=All and https://www.prp.com/product/detail/1...ickup&type=All I am not knowledgeable enough to know if you can use the one made for the trim without using the trim.

Re: Chrome trim on windshield rubber
OK, just got off the phone with LMC. As stated by Rocknrod, the rubber comes two different ways, 1 with the groove for the trim and, one without the groove. Fortunately I got the one I need, the one without the groove. The place that's going to do it is Chip Away Auto glass, in Mansfield, TX 817-690-4103. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Re: Chrome trim on windshield rubber
I agree. Just use a new windshield rubber... regular, without the trim.

Re: Chrome trim on windshield rubber
If your stainless windshield trim is in good shape without dings and includes clips covering the joint, I'd like to buy it. Let me know.
