Looking for inspiration for air bags.
I am running modified factory lower control arms on my SS7 bagged 67 Burban and I am hoping I can get people to post pictures of their modified lower bump stops. I have searched and it seems that most of the posts no longer have the photos available. (Fracking Toasters) I have stared at mine for too long hoping for inspiration. The photos are of the modified arms and a poor photo of them installed.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Looking for inspiration for air bags.
What's the reason for bump stops? SS7 bags have internal stops.

Re: Looking for inspiration for air bags.
This is to be my daily driver and the Slam instructions state "Do not drive on the internal bumpstops". So a little engineering now will save me a lot of heartache down the road.

Re: Looking for inspiration for air bags.
That goes for any bump stop. The bump stop is just the last ditch effort from metal to metal contact. No suspension should rely on the bump stops to be driven on daily. Why are you thinking that you need to run on the bump stops?
I would just add more air when driving to get off the internal stops and air out when parked. I am also running ss7 and have no other bump stops. I wish I did have steering stops though.

Re: Looking for inspiration for air bags.
I am planning ahead for the day when I have a failure miles from home and have to limp it back instead of being towed. I have no "plan" to run on the bump stops. But I have no doubt that I will be forced to at some point. When that happens I hope to avoid tearing up the inside of the bag by having a external bump stop. After the internal bump stop is damaged the pieces will work their way out of the bag and into the dump valve and it will end up stuck open or damaged. Just looking to avoid these heartaches.

Re: Looking for inspiration for air bags.
I believe this is the intended purpose of the bags internal bump stop. To save the bags and the vehicle.

Re: Looking for inspiration for air bags.
If you ever blow a bag, jack it up and shove a block of wood in there to limp it home. You can't hurt the bag if it's already destroyed.
