1969 C30 restoration questions
Hey guys just grabbing some info for my new first project. 133" wheel base. has a 350 carbureted from a 95 Tahoe. and original 4 speed. looking at a total restore I will keep things posted when I get them done. also ask opinions.
So first question is where can I find info on how the pto setup was ran. right now it has a shaft drive back to the pump which has a large single cylinder. but it is getting rusty and doesn't look the best. I'm trying to get it framed right and rhino line the whole frame. what does frame work rust repair cost? Next question and this is more opinion than hard question truck will be repainted midnight blue with tan interior. do you think it should be a regular long bed or a aluminum bed? |

Sounds like a cool project. I think regular beds look best, but that is just my opinion. Guess it would come down to how you will use it when you're done.
Oh and welcome!

The shaft pump drive would be the stock configuration. Just clean/sandblast everything and paint it unless the frame is rusted out. "What does frame repair cost" is an open ended question not knowing what the going labor rates are in your area and how bad your rust is. Pictures might help..... LockDoc

Re: 1969 C30 restoration questions
Hey guys looking at my next question. what is the best fuel pump for the 350 I Need an electric one for the tbi conversion. I don't wanna run a Faccet in line pump that quit every week once they get hot. to many bad experiences. Also what fuel pressure regulator do I need? Going to be running a Edelbrock 1406 or 1405..

Re: 1969 C30 restoration questions
For a TPI conversion you can run an '88 Ford Truck external pump. But that will be too high a pressure for a TBI. There may be a similar external pump for a TBI Ford truck. Summit has a Carter pump p/n P5001 for TBI conversions. You might take to opportunity to move the tank out of the cab. Then use a S10 Blazer or big Blazer tank with internal TBI pump.
