Rear disc conversion
I have a '66 C20 and currently the rear brakes are not working as the previous owner put a hole in the drum somehow and just unhooked them instead of fixing them. I was thinking of finding drums and rebuilding the drums but while looking I found this rear disc conversion kit ( https://lugnut4x4.com/product/62-72-...onversion-kit/ ). I'm really interested In this kit as it's affordable at $315 and looks like a good value. Has anyone used this kit and does anybody know if the stock 16" wheels clear the discs??? Thanks

Re: Rear disc conversion
I have not used that kit but I would suggest making sure you are happy with your Eaton HO52 and it's gear ratio before spending money on a rear disc kit. Although I believe the Eaton HO52 and the FF 14 bolt use the same brackets? At least some other manufacturers advertise such.

Re: Rear disc conversion
Yeah I have 4.57 rear gears which is pretty high but I plan to get a t56 or something in the future to help with that. I hear the eatons are pretty durable so I would like to keep it.

Re: Rear disc conversion
You may be able to piece together the kit cheaper. And here is one from RuffStuff Specialties that is less expensive and fits a 14 bolt SRW- I bet it fits your axle too. You might call and ask them. The cost difference will pay shipping, at least.
