Who is running 22" Transits with a drop?
I came across a set of cheap transits, I am bagging my C-10 at the moment, I am wondering if running transits with a large drop is an issue with the front suspension? or rear?
I currently have 5 bolt running gear, I was thinking about having the option of running the 22" with 1-1/2" wide wheel adapters. is this the right width? I have made measurements and think it should work, but I am working with the frame alone, then have the bed off as well as the front clip to measure from, this is not always accurate, so i am relying on those who have attempted this already for insight.

Re: Who is running 22" Transits with a drop?
I'm guessing nobody is running transits without a drop. on my 70 I have 2" drop spindles, bags all around. 6bolt disc upgrade in front. On the front the transits fit fine but would look better if they were pushed out a bit. On the back I flipped the centers to get the right backspace without spacers. If I remember correctly I used Honda Pilot studs, m14x1.5. Bags are just manual but I run things pretty low.

Re: Who is running 22" Transits with a drop?
My truck is static but it is pretty low. On the front, there's no way you could run a 1.5" spacer. I don't have drop spindles yet, but with those the wheels will sit nicely under the fender with enough room to turn. Then you are stuck with the 5 lug problem though. The guy I got my transits from also does bolt pattern swaps on them and can do a 5 lug swap. It's not cheap though.
On the rear, I also did what t300 did and flipped the centers so I have 4" of backspace on the rear wheels instead of the 6" they come with. On a '70 you will most likely have the wider rear end which means you could run a 1.5" spacer max.

I'm running them on a '69 swb with the 1.5 spacers all the way around with a 2/3 drop and don't have any problems.

I can get another set of disks, I have another set of axles I could put in the rear end as well. I will have to measure my rear ends, I wasn't aware that there are different widths of rear ends.
