Heater Control Valve
So I was reading other posts about heater control valves for the inlet side of the heater core. I remembered I had one and a cable, so without destruction of the vehicle, I added one! Lets see how it helps on the drive home today.

Re: Heater Control Valve
What's the deal with that? I bypassed my control valve over the summer because it was letting in heat. It helped. My son is going to be in OC this weekend and his is going to stop at the truck and car shop and pick up an original vacuum controlled valve. I expect it to work fine. So, why do you need a cable operated valve?
Just curious!

Re: Heater Control Valve
I have both in my 71 C-10 and the 56 Bel Air. I shut the manual one off during the summer to help on the AC temperature inside the cab. If the heater is letting hot water pass it makes the ac temp go up. Mine was good for almost 6-10 degree's inside the cab.

Re: Heater Control Valve
I re-curved the distributor and set it to total advance of 38 degrees, then adjust back for pinging from there. Runs like a champ..

Re: Heater Control Valve
It looks cool but (and maybe I'm just old and grumpy this morning) I'd be hesitant to label ANYTHING as fire suppression that wasn't actually. Otherwise I think it's awesome.
