Need 4 link help bagged
I installed my 4 link other day and tested the full up and down. I have it set my ride height 6.5" off the ground and lower bars are parallel too the ground upper bars are set at +3 degrees. IC at firewall just picked that because that's what other people with bagged trucks I read use that or front bumper. anyways. at ride height will be at +3 fully aired down changes to -6 . aired up goes to +1 I believe. what did I do wrong. are my upper bars not close enough, angles not right, need to adjust them??? upper bars alone 13 3/4. lowers 21. those are without the adjustable links in.

Re: Need 4 link help bagged
Not sure what you are asking. Are you talking about the angle of the bars changing or the pinion angle changing?

Re: Need 4 link help bagged
From ride height to aired done my axle moves forward and pinion angle changes a lot. Ride height set at +3 aired down moves to -6 idk why someone said it's my upper bars to close together for how short they are and need to be like example closer to 30* instead 45. Any advice?

Re: Need 4 link help bagged
that's a pretty hard angle on the top bars...at that angle your horizontal bar length is even shorter...what's the length of top and bottom bars..your IC really needs to be ahead of your front bumper....is this a store bought 4link or homebrew...

Re: Need 4 link help bagged
Lowers are 21 uppers 13 3/4. So my upper bars should be more around 30 degrees or so not so much angle for how small they are. It's bought off eBay when I shorted the top bars

Re: Need 4 link help bagged
I'm worried about those top links it looks like you welded the one on to the center of the diff.

Re: Need 4 link help bagged
I think your uppers need to be longer and at less of an sideways angle...the angles not as important as the length....but when you have longer uppers the angle will decrease..if I remember without looking the uppers are supposed to be around 70% of the length of the lowers..your measurements come out at 65% but with that hard angle the real # will be even less..probably around 60% or less...i think the upper bar shortness is what's got your geometry messed up when you cycle the suspension..and if you welded those brackets to a cast differential housing it probably won't last long...I can't see it good enough to tell...

Yes after talking to another person on this forum. I realized yes my bars are to short I was trying to make them 80% of the length of lowers from top view not side view and angle is to aggressive. Yes and I guess the welding too housing wasn't beat idea either haha. I'm glad it's not fully welded in and I tested travel with jack not weld everything up and be really in trouble. I believed I from doing right measurements I was actually less then 50% which explains a lot |

Re: Need 4 link help bagged
Any reason you went triangulated 4 link on a truck ?I would have gone the longest parallel 4 link i could and on the outside of the frame,Yeah it will take a panhard bar or a watts link to keep it centered but the longer the links the smoother it will ride in the end.
