275 or 255 x15" performance tires
Looking for suggestions/ feed back on 275 or 255 summer performance tires, for 15x8 wheel. The wheels are original blazer wheels. Kind of looking for a 28" tall tire.
A taller tire is ok too. Would like the tires to be performance or one-step higher in performance summer tires. Thanks, Les Last edited by aotte1; 09-18-2017 at 03:06 PM. |

Re: 275 or 255 x15" performance tires
The BF Goodrich T/A radial is pretty much the standard in a 275/60/15. I have used many of them over the past 20 or so years from size 235/60, 275/60 & 295/50, all on 15" wheels on 3 different vehicles. Currently, I'm running 235/60/15's on front and 275/60/15's on the rear of my Bel Air wagon, with 15/16" factory front sway bar, Hotchkis shocks, 2" drop and a UMI panhard rod and it holds the road very well. The BFG t/a is a good all around street performance tire.
I looked up some reviews on the Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T, and they are favorable as well and offer a 275/60/15, but I have no personal experience with them.

Re: 275 or 255 x15" performance tires
I am in the same boat. I have the BFG TA 275/60 15s on my truck and they have been a good tire that I cant complain about. When new they gripped better than I thought they would. Nitto makes a drag radial in the same size that I have heard good things about. I wish there was a bigger market for that tire size because I also would like to upgrade.

Re: 275 or 255 x15" performance tires
Ed,
Decided to use the Hancock 275x60x15. Local tire dealer recommended them. Ordered today, painting mr wheel tonight. Will post some photos in a few days. Some of their ultra performance tire are rated very high in SCCA racing. Looks like they are trying hard to make good tires. Les |
