Wiper Pump
Have anyone had to change the wiper pump on there C-10? after a little research to my understanding it appears that the standard wiper pump is not to dependable. Can anyone share some light on this subject I am in the process of changing my cab and need to install a wiper pump is there a different pump that is compatible to the c10 set up? any help would be great

Re: Wiper Pump
Make sure it doesn't just need to be primed. Use a plastic bottle with a nozzle that fits into the end of the washer hose, and squeeze water into the hose as you activate the pump. If that doesn't work, look on the threads for using a pump from a 90s car or truck.
Replacing th wiper pump in these trucks is a tedious task and the results may be disappointing for you. |

Re: Wiper Pump
I swapped mine out for a new aftermarket pump when I discovered that parts for my 67 style pump are not available. I made a bracket and bolted it to where the old one mounted. It could use a check valve to get the water pumping faster but it works. There are some photos and a write up in my WBM thread link below. Page 7 post 163.

Re: Wiper Pump
My dad bought my truck new off the lot and according to him, the washer pump NEVER worked, not even once.
He would just pull over and wipe off the glass. I have made a bracket to mount a new pump to the washer bottle bracket and hopefully next summer, I will wire that up and run new hoses. |
