4.3 Swaps?
Probably not a very popular question.
But I have a 03 Silverado short bed regular cab with a blown up 4.3. I've thought about LS swapping it but I'm probably not gonna keep the truck so I scratched that idea. So to my question. I can get 2000 and up model blazers dirt cheap at my local insurance auction with 4.3's. So will those model 4.3's work in my 03 truck??

Re: 4.3 Swaps?
I would stay as close to the 2003 model year as you can. Somewhere between 2000 and 2002, a lot of the thread bosses in the blocks and heads were changed from standard to metric.
A 2003-2006(2004 was the last year for the blazer) will be a direct drop in. If you get one from a blazer, you may need to use the oil pan and pick up from your full size |

Re: 4.3 Swaps?
I may love the 5.3 and the 5.7's....But I have to give praise to the 4.3! You will not get me to say bad things about that motor. To me the perfect for most everything. I am honest though when I say I dream of putting a 6.2 in my Suburban.

I'm still on the hunt for a motor. There's a 2002 Silverado up for auction tomorrow that I can hopefully score cheap!
