New to me 67 project truck.

Hello everyone, I was a member years ago but got out of the truck business for a while because I had too many projects going at once, sound familiar? Well I ran across a 1967 that’s partially done in pro-touring style that I just had to have. I picked it up in a snow storm so I just finished washing all the road salt off.

I think the PO was a board member so some of you may recognize it. Anyway it good to be back and I’m hoping since this is a good start I can have it on the road for summer 2019. The next step is to organize all the parts so I can actually get to work without tripping over stuff.

Welcome back. Looks like someone has already done most of the dirty work on it.

Re: New to me 67 project truck.

It’s C4 corvette on all 4 corners. What I’m told is that it’s the flat out engineering front crossmember on a custom chassis built by Caged Motorsports. The chassis has the rear C4 IRS integrated using a parallel 4-link. It has QA1 coil overs all the way around. It all looks like it was done right with quality parts and quality welding.

I was hoping someone may recognize it and point me to any threads if they exist, I never asked the PO if he had a build thread, I could always go back and ask.

It came with so many parts I think I could damn near build another truck, apparently he had been buying, selling, trading parts and parting out trucks, keeping the best of everything for his project. The only sheetmetal problem I can find is the dash is cut for a din radio. It took me 2 trips to get everything.

Re: New to me 67 project truck.

Here’s a few more pics. Right now I’m still finishing the last project which is my ‘69 firebird. Need to do the interior yet. Other than that I’m sourcing parts for the truck build. I hope to really start on it in about a month.

I picked up a LQ4 6.0 LS and a 4l80. Right now the body’s just siting on the chassis. My plan is to get it sitting at full weight then set the ride height near the center of the coil overs, then figure out if the body needs to go up or down to get the visual stance I want. Then pull it all back apart build the motor trans, do the body work etc.
