5 Lug Conversion Axles for $74 Bucks Each

Got a pair of these 5 lug axles coming for my 69. Part number is MG6569....a certain shopping website has them for only $74 Bucks each with free shipping. The same axle is selling for about $150 each everywhere else. I called and they are drilled for 1/2" studs and the hub register is supposed to be sized for the 71-87 brake drums. Mine should be here in a couple days.

The description for this item says "rear right". Are the left-side and right-side shafts different?

This looks like a pretty good deal. You get the brake drums and the bearings. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/y...del/c10-pickup

Re: 5 Lug Conversion Axles for $74 Bucks Each

No secret, I just wasn't sure of the rules. I'm getting them off Amazon. Ebay had a set for about the same price.

That deal from Summit is great if you need drums

How did you come up with this part number being correct for 65-69 axle housings?
EDIT:
Application from Jegs,...

Here's the part number for the wider 70-72 5-lug axles:
(for converting wider 1970 6-lug axles)

Re: 5 Lug Conversion Axles for $74 Bucks Each

That's a smoking deal for sure. Has anyone used these axles before? Any issues?

This would save me a bunch of money on my rear end rebuild that I'm doing soon. But I don't want to save money at the cost of quality.

Ordered mine thru Summit Racing. They price matched plus I needed a couple other parts so bundled together for free shipping.

I didn't know Summit would price match, that's good to know. I may have went that way also and picked up a few misc things at the same time.

Re: 5 Lug Conversion Axles for $74 Bucks Each

Got my axles in today....they are as they should be. The hub fits the 5 lug drum perfectly, drilled for 1/2 inch stud, correct length, splined right and the machining for the c clip is correct. Gotta say I'm very pleased.

Mine are in! 5 on 5" rear matches the disc brakes on the front of the 1969 C10 CST.

Thanks for all the posts above, price still good on Amazon as of November 2024, $100. Does anyone happen to have the hub diameter spec? Can't seem to find it, thanks, Mike

Re: 5 Lug Conversion Axles for $74 Bucks Each

I went through the conversion on my 1969 CST/10 and got the Motive Gear MG6569 axle shafts. According to Q&A on Summit’s site that says the brake pilot is 3.06" and I measured the hole in the 71 brake drum at 3-1/8. So, they fit fine. The price of these shafts is fine through Summit, Amazon, or who I bought them from was National Drivetrain's listing on eBay. The price seems to change frequently. Here is my thread with info you might like to see:
