LQ4 swapped K10 belt chirp
Ever since I completed my swap my SERP belt gets particles lodged in the grooves and causes it to chirp...yes is drives me nuts. It was a new belt 5000 mikes ago. Power steering pump and alternator have both been changed due to leaking and not working. I think the tensioner is shot. I can easily take off the belt with a regular length 15mm wrench. If I wire brush the underside of the belt then it’s good for a couple of days.. pulleys look to be lined up ok, although I did have the crank pulley off to do the front main on the engine stand. Thoughts?

Re: LQ4 swapped K10 belt chirp
Particles of what? Is it just road gunk, or do you have something in the vicinity corroding?
Most of my belt slip/noise on trucks has always been either P/S or Alternator related. Sometimes the alt can start to wear and stick, causing the belt to slip. Any flat spots on it?

Nothing corroding that I know of... don't know what those particles are made of.
Water pump, power steering pump, and alternator all new to the truck.. Junkyard new that is..

Is the power steering pulley pressed on flush with the shaft of the pump?

Re: LQ4 swapped K10 belt chirp
The PS pump is new to the truck...took it off a smashed Tahoe at a wrecking yard ..I got bracket with it so I didn't have to pull off the pulley...truck chirped before and after pump swapped. I picked up a new tensioner and belt yesterday. I will install when I get home and we'll see..

Re: LQ4 swapped K10 belt chirp
Sounds like something is misaligned. I have had some set ups that just never quieted down no matter what I tried, but a Goodyear Gatorback belt has fixed them. https://www.amazon.com/Continental-E...gatorback+belt If you were to take your car to a professional shop, and they couldn't get it fixed within a reasonable amount of time, this is what they would use too. Quietest belt available.
