Hello again!
Hey all!
I am just now returning to the board after about 12 years away. To say that I have been through "heck" and back would be an understatement... A lot has changed since I was last here regularly - From a truck perspective, I have sold the 72 Blazer, the 71 Blazer and the 72 GMC SG. The 69 GMC LWB turned into a donor for the 72 K20 project which, I am pleased to say, is finally complete! Now that things are back in line again, I am looking forward to participating in (and learning from) all the great discussions on this board. I am also considering starting another project - taking the 99 Yukon and putting a 72 Blazer body on it. I think it would be a fun project to start with my 11 year old son and maybe it would be complete by the time he's driving! Anyway - hello again to those members that I recognize and a new hello to all who have joined in the last 12 years! the 72 before and after (10 years between!)

Re: Hello again!
Thanks for the comments! It feels good to be back! I find myself thinking about my next project constantly now - familiar feelings of a past addiction!
A little more info on the truck - this was the truck I used when I was in high school. My dad started the father/son resto project in 2005 and then I moved from MN to IA for work. He took the truck all the way down to the frame and rebuilt everything! The original 350 was bored/stroked to a 383 with vortec heads, HEI, and a Holley 750 carb. The Eaton rear axle now has a locker, all sheet metal is from donor trucks (no re-pop metal), it has a vintage air A/C system, highlander seat cover and a spray-in bed liner. The green/pearl paint scheme is accented with gold flake as well. It turned out better than I expected and it certainly is in better shape than new! Here are a few more pics:
