wiper motor

I am attempting to replace the wiper motor and pump on my 72 step side my question should there be a nut that goes on the wiper motor crank to secure the transmission arm onto the wiper motor I purchase a new motor and notice that there are threads on the crank but no nut came with it this is a new cab completely strip. can anyone help me with this I hope I am asking the question correctly.
