Crazy stuff people do to ruin a truck

After seeing the post for the mystery hose, I have to share this with you. I bought a 67 short fleet for my son. I am turning it into a streetrod for him. The guy I bought it from had tried to turn it into a convertible. He removed the gas tank so he could fit a nasty Cadillac seat in there. The roof looked like he cut it off with an axe. The back wall of the cab was supported by two verticle 4x4's and a horizontal 4x6 ran across the top. He rad about 500 drywall screws through the back wall sheet metal into the 4x4's and 4x6. He was a retired upholsterer and covered everything and I do mean everything (steering column, shifter, brake pedal arm, heater box,gas pedal, seat belts, etc, etc.) in black tuck and roll vinyl. Since he removed the tank from behind the seat (probably for safety reasons) he permantly mounted three five gallon Jerry cans in the bed and ran 3/8" copper tube that snaked through just about every unused hole in the frame. It had a 440 dodge and a 727 tranny. The funny thing was this guy owned the truck since 1970. Everything else on the truck was perfect. I tossed the cab for another one and the 440 and 727 foe a 350/350. I wish I had a pic of this thing before I tore it apart. But here is a pic of the progress so far. It would be fun to hear other members stories on the strange things people do to vehicles. I only paid $50.00 for the truck and I move it...$100.00 if he moved it..

Thank You for rescuing te truck from its previous life of torture and misuse. I don't have a son, got a girl, but I'm hoping she will love the idea of an old HotRod Truck to drive in High School!!! BTW, Nice Truck!!!

Sorry Guys....My Manager at work said he wanted it. It sat next to my driveway for about 6 months then I hauled it to the boneyard. It was too bad too. It was pretty fresh and ran really well. When I picked it up, my son laid about a 100 foot patch of rubber and I'm sure he could have kept going.
