Power steering help!
Hey guys, I have a 67 with the in-line 6. I’m trying to find a power steering setup or kit to go on the truck. I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it. From what I heard, is that the 77-79 c10 gearbox is the same?
Any help is appreciated!! |

Re: Power steering help!
The gear box isn't the problem but the mounts to put power steering on the older separate intake.
The more common power steering is on the integral head motors made in the 70's. You are going to pay more than you want most likely just because they aren't that common. I bought a complete setup a year or so back for my 3.0 Mercruiser that I am putting in a jeep. The Merc is a bored and stroked 153 Chevy II motor and will use the same setup as a 230/250 6 with non-intergral head. I think I paid $150? And I thought that was a good deal when I paid it.

Re: Power steering help!
I have a guy I’m buying the bracket off of. I just need the gearbox So didn’t know what year. There’s a classic store that I buy a lot of stuff down here in Houston but they want 350 just for the gearbox. I called autozone and they have it for 160. So it’s a no brainer. Just want to make sure that I have the right year before I buy it
