New Brake System - Dot3 or DOT4?
I am completely redoing the brake system in my truck from stem to stern. It's a 71 with factory discs up front, power brakes, nothing fancy.
What type of fluid should I use?

DoT 3 is all you need. You can use the DoT 4. It has a higher boiling point, if that is a concern. I use DoT 3 in my truck, even when pulling a trailer (which has its own electric brakes).

Brake Fluid Dot3 or DOT4?
Either will work but DOT is what disc brakes call for .
The main thing is to remember to fully flush and replace it every two or three (at most) years .

I put DOT 4 in everything now-a days.
