Amp powerstep install with pics
I finally installed the power steps. My truck didn’t come with the door jamb switch, so I ordered the switches, door jamb switch harness and courtesy light harness.

Re: Amp powerstep install with pics
These switches should self adjust , but I don’t think they adjusted at all. Anyway this is the drill bit and threader I used. I know it says self tapping but didn’t want any loose switches, I had no problem at all installing them.

Re: Amp powerstep install with pics
These are the power steps I bought. Got them off of EBay, they were a brand new kit still in factory packaging.

This is how I hung them from the bottom of the cab.

Re: Amp powerstep install with pics
Next was the harness, pretty easy. Negative and positive wires connected the battery terminals. Trigger wires connected to the door jamb switch to activate the power steps.

Re: Amp powerstep install with pics
These steps made a big difference, they come down about 8 inches. My truck has a 4 inch suspension lift with 35 inch tires.

Re: Amp powerstep install with pics
Thanks for posting, they look nice and this is the most functional step out there and they hide away fairly well. A member on the 99+ forum installed them and also shortened them to regular cab length - something I’m looking into for my 01. You can rotate pics by editing on your computer or editing on your iPhone - all have a rotate function - just resale them and reload.

Re: Amp powerstep install with pics
Jocko, that’s what I did today, cut the boards down to the length of the cab. El Dorado Jim I paid $500 with free shipping. I had been looking for a set for awhile.

Re: Amp powerstep install with pics
Thanks for sharing Coppertone! That is one cool mod!
I would like to see/know more about how you mounted them to the cab subframe and, it looks like they mounted to the rocker as well.
