newbie
Hi evrybody. I am married to 72shadetree, I am his better half. I blew his mind today . Made him stop and look at a 70 shortstep and decided it is going to be my new playtoy, come monday when the bank opens. Wanted ya'lls input on the truck. It has the normal rust that most do in our area. still in the original paint, was a 6 banger but now a 305 3speed, with a 411 posi, body is pretty solid. Guy is asking 1500 does that sound reasonable? Shortsteps are hard to find in this area, I drove the truck for a long time today and fell in love, Shadetree got mad cause I wouldn't let him drive it but then offered to sell one of his so i could get mine fixed up. Is this a fair price? Thanks

IMO, if it's drivable and you enjoyed driving it, it's worth $1500.

Welcome!!!!!!! I think that sounds pretty fair. Is it mostly original??(besides the engine). Try and talk him down!! Offer 1000.00 and try and get it for about 1300. When I find a vehicle I like at a price I'm willing to pay, I always talk them down a little, then use the money I saved to immediately fix up the truck!!

Thanks everybody. the truck is mostly original except someone took out the seat and replaced with newer model buckets. It has the dummy lights instead of guages but shadetree as a new cluster I could swipe,,hehehe

Sounds like you have been there before Longhorn!! It was a warm 76 sunny beautiful day today . shadetree has already told me he would share some of his extra parts with me but some things were just off limits. I have already figured out how much money I can save to spend on the truck just by cutting out the son's allowance and shadetrees play money.

Nope, I have never been there...my wife is mildly supportive, but pretty much uninterested. I don't know if I prefer it that way or not.

I'm with Stocker, if you like it it's a good deal. Besides, what other vehicle can you get involved with for under $2000.00 that is so cool?
... and Aloha to the board!
