You can buy them reproduction. Unless you wanted original GM?

Re: WTB - '72 Original Big Block Fuel Line - Pump To Carb

Hello,
I have heard that reproductions are out there but I've also heard quite a few horror stories about how the bends are all wrong and they just don't fit -- If you know where I can get one that fits properly please let me know where !!

Thanks '68 Gold ! I appreciate the thought, I'm really surprised the one for the Big Block apparently is so hard replicate ... I know someone will enlighten me/us or have one to sell.

Re: WTB - '72 Original Big Block Fuel Line - Pump To Carb

I have purchased 2, 1 from inline tube and one from ?, neither one fit. Top end didn't clear a/c bracket and bottom wasn't even close to fuel pump fitting. The one in super dudes picture is the one I need, 402 auto a/c.
I'm buying/selling parts with member atog (gunner) and he has fabed one for me which I'll get when we meet. I told him there is a demand for them, so maybe?

Yeah, I've heard similar stories from other folks as well. I checked with the TRUCK SHOP and they had it so I bought 1 - we'll see how it turns out. I've heard from other truck guys that have bought things from this business that they are overall good quality items that fit as they should. I'm optimistic at this point !

Re: WTB - '72 Original Big Block Fuel Line - Pump To Carb

I restored the truck in the picture 4 years ago. I bought the line from Inline tube. One thing about their listing. When they say long or short pump, they are referring to the fuel pump, not the water pump. 1972 has the long or tall fuel pump.

Heck yes there's a demand for them, I'm surely interested. I have one from in-line tube that hasn't been fitted yet, but the odds don't sound so good.

OT, apparently those who retail these differentiate between "A/C & not A/C". I'm calling BS, because the difference is likely a fuel pump with a return line (1972 factory) Vs one without one (e.g., 1971). In my case it's without a return line. These pictures will demonstrate why. The hardline I haven't fitted yet is for "not A/C". I have A/C

Re: WTB - '72 Original Big Block Fuel Line - Pump To Carb

hi,these fuel lines, fuel pump to carb were steel with double flared ends.not stainless or copper and never, that i've ever seen, with a rubber section of hose and a filter.the brass or paper filter was inside the big 1 inch nut in the carb that the fuel line threaded into.i have an original big block 72 truck i bought that's stuck in Utah til the covid mess dies down and i can go get,but once it's home i think i'll take off the original gas line to the carb,re-produce a bunch of them for you guys.that's one of my pet peeves, seeing these fuel lines butchered up with plastic see through filters installed where they shouldn't be.take care.Greg

Re: WTB - '72 Original Big Block Fuel Line - Pump To Carb

I am having the same issue with a steel fuel line I just received from The Truck and Car Shop. The carb end lines up good but the fuel pump end is clocked wrong. I need to replace the abomination soft hose and left over steel ends.
