Stock front leaf spring question

Hey everyone,
Can anyone tell me what is up with the center leaf on the far spring having the radius at the end? Got these as a set and didn't realize they were different. They are '72 K10 front springs.

Re: Stock front leaf spring question

its a kind of protector thingy . unless you do crazy offroad or work truck stuff its no big deal .

if you want take a cut off wheel and slice it off to match the other .

make sure there both the same arch height and leaf thickness per leaf and total pack thickness . lots of times there can be variables between packs per weight class .

Re: Stock front leaf spring question

Just extra support for the eyelet when under a heavy load since it is the pivot point and all the weight is on the bolt and bushing

Re: Stock front leaf spring question

Are those springs a factory removal with a fresh coat of paint or were they rebuilt by a spring shop. Should be a matching set

I have a very original 67k10 with the same thing; driver side has the extra radious part.

Must be a 'thing' for the push pull steering....never paid attention to that before
