Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
Just read your build thread, incredible! I have seen quite a few crew cabs but most are lowered or near stock height. I think it looks a lot better raised up a bit. I am in the camp of SWB = lower, LWB = stock or higher.

Favorite:
LS Swap (fuel mileage ) Ridetech suspension (this thing rides smooth as silk but still handles amazing) Carpet and insulation (much much cooler in the cab) Least Favorite: Magnaflow exhaust (for what this thing cost and how poorly it fits, I am still peeved at spending the money on it vs. building my own. It does sound good though) |

Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
Good idea for a thread. I may have to update this from time to time as I have plenty of things on the to do list. The WMB thread below covers most of the list.
Favorites: Gary Tayman radio conversion (and the plate to cover the PO's hacking a hole for a DIN) Head liner installation (It gets way more complements than I ever could have imagined) Wiper delay and fuel pump controller from Revolution Electronics The paint color (All the agonizing was worth it in the end) Switching from 3:07's to stock 3:73's Least favorite: Air bags!!!! Aftermarket front fenders Dual needle guages for the air bags Windshield washer pump conversion. (Pump needs to be at the tank)

cebra,
Absolutely a great idea for a new thread. Thanks!!!!! I am a pretty new owner of a 72 Jimmy. So this thread has already been very helpful to me. Things to consider, ones to be wary of, etc. A good example is Gary Tayman radios, conversions. Thank you to all have posted. Us newbies are paying attention. Terry |

Re: Most/Least Favorite Modifications/Upgrades
I love the headlight relay mod too, super cheap and effective. If you put miles on your truck, I don't see how you could deal with not having intermittent wipers (maybe I am just spoiled by modern vehicles). I drove once from PA to NC in a drizzly rain and I kept one hand on the wheel and one hand on the wiper knob. I thought I was going to wear that thing out before I made it home turning it off and on every 10 seconds for 6 hours straight.
