Carlisle Truck Show
Who is bringing their truck to Carlisle in a little over a week? How about parts selling? I will be there set up on B17-19, opposite side of row from The Truck Shop and catty corner away from the grand stand, tan ez-up. I hope to see friends from here and hopefully meet some I have not yet. This will be my 13th year on that spot.

Re: Carlisle Truck Show
I'm in h125. I'll either have the 72c20 or the 77 burban. I am leaving tomorrow to pick up the burban from fellow member Willowrun

Re: Carlisle Truck Show
Oh, I didn't know you got a Suburban. I will most likely be there in my white '95 K2500 Suburban this time.
The show is August 2-4. Swap meet and show with other activities going on throughout.

Re: Carlisle Truck Show
Yeah, they sure screwed up on scheduling that auction. Shows they are more oriented toward cars than trucks in my eyes.

Re: Carlisle Truck Show
Most likely bringing the 72. The gas tank in the 77 needs to be flushed and a new sending unit installed.

Re: Carlisle Truck Show
Too bad the 'Burb won't make it, but the '72 will make another run for Carlisle.
That's cool Rob. When I think summer of '69 I see a panel truck painted up like a psychodelic sin bin And you made me think of this song I'm just hoping the boots & shorty shorts thing hasn't fizzled out

Re: Carlisle Truck Show
Yes it does have a the holes for a cover . Easy fix. Wish I had known you were right there I would have stopped by to say hello. Well maybe next year. Or in the fall if you go to it.
The green GMC was real nice. If I hadn't got this one my Chevy would have been sporting the GMC one on it till I found one.

Re: Carlisle Truck Show
I had a great time once again... not to make it sound routine. They're always different. It was great meeting up with all my friends from this place. I tell you, there are so many I can't count. We have more members than you might think. Many are just not into posting, just like to read posts. Many father/son combos which I think is fantastic. At least half a dozen I talked to.
That rain on Saturday was just a cloud passing over on a day calling for scattered showers. They called for the same on Friday and nothing happened. But this one on Saturday got over top, decided to hang out, and even grew. You could look back to where it came from that was sunny at first (all four directions in the distance) and it became clouds/rain again. It hung in good and steady, then really pounded down as it ended. Everywhere I looked I saw people hanging on to their canopies because the wind was gusting. Then all calm and the show went on. I didn't get out to see the show trucks or get away much at all except in the evening. So no pictures this time. Saw all kinds of nice trucks driving around, and great parts, some with great prices. The best part of all was seeing all the good people and all the chat. People I call friends, people I only see there every year I always talk with, and all those I never met before now. It's more than selling parts for me. We spend as much time answering questions/steering people straight on what they need or how-tos as on selling anything. It's people being people the way it was meant to be. I was next door talking with Pete of Pete's Seats when that rain started. Actually, I was headed across the back of our spaces to the neighbor's behind me outhouse when I heard a few first big drops of rain hitting their tent top. I turned back to Pete and he was starting to cover his stuff. I started grabbing a tarps pulling them over seats as the rain started. I look back at my Suburban that had all the windows open and there was Larry my neighbor rolling them up. That's how it works up there. We all look out for each other. We offer sandwiches, beers, water, offer to buy ice when getting our own, or anything while going out, etc. The neighbors behind are a family operation that has a huge set-up selling tools, supplies, like Harbor Freight. They went to assemble a jack or something and the holes weren't tapped. Well they sell taps so my partner tapped them out for them while they continued on. Pat, I guess my question is what kind of legend? Never mind. Don't think I want to know... heh heh
