66 c10 Chrome Grill Source
I have read the reproductions dont fit well?
Any experiences which way to go? I would like chrome one that actually fits correctly. Last edited by Afirehawk1; 10-13-2019 at 09:02 PM. |

Re: 66 c10 Chrome Grill Source
As for the 64-66 style grilles.....The problem with the chrome ones, which are all aftermarket, is that they eventually get rusty. Aluminum grilles were never reproduced so supply is limited to those which have survived. I have not checked to see if reproductions are available in paintable steel, but i have managed to score the originals without a lot of trouble.

Never heard that. I have a chrome one I have already fit and removed. The tabs may need to be slightly adjusted in or out but it fit.

Re: 66 c10 Chrome Grill Source
I am installing my 66 repo chrome grill. Problem is the two inside mounting pads are in contact with the stock grill support but the two outside bolt holes on both sides have about 1/2" of space between the grill mounting pads and the grill support. Could likely get long bolts into them and suck them in or should I use spacers?

Re: 66 c10 Chrome Grill Source
When I assembled my chrome grill last summer that I got from Brothers it took a little jiggering to get the headlamp base assemblies attached. Some of the holes were a bit out and some of the tabs on the grill had to be bent a bit to line up at the right angle. It wasn't too difficult though.

Re: 66 c10 Chrome Grill Source
Is there one source that is better quality than the others or is it everyone sells the same grill? I'm also going to be in the market fairly soon for a chrome one.
