I need a engine hose..............

Theres a hose on the passenger side valve cover that goes to the rear of the carb air filter spacer just under the air filter. Its some sort of crankcase vent. It has a factory 90 degree bend on valve cover end. Does anybody know where i can buy one of these. My engine is a 350. 1972 c10..................thanks

Re: I need a engine hose..............

Bob I checked LMC catalog and they don't offer it. Brothers might. A quick check showed at least one used spacer and hose have been sold in the classifieds each of the last few months. If someone could get you the ID and length of the hose you may be able to scour the auto parts books for one similar but for a different application. Ebay possibly? Google AC Delco parts?

I'm not certain if this is the correct size, but maybe this will get you started:

There was a lengthy discussion about this on the forum last week.

Re: I need a engine hose..............

I do not believe the OP is talking about a PCV hose. I beieve he is referring to the hose that goes from the passenger side grommet to the carb spacer. It is a vent hose that allows crankcase gasses to be burned. Larger diameter than a PCV hose and has a special end on it.

Re: I need a engine hose..............

The part that it plugs into on the valve cover (or special end) is a flame arrester. Are you looking for that as well? You can probably get the flame arrester and/or hose by posting a want to buy ad in the parts section.

The grommet for the valve cover is Dorman 42052 or GM part 14091870, I got one at the local Chevy dealer and later got the Dorman part on eBay.

Re: I need a engine hose..............

I found a molded heater hose off of a newer pickup of some sort at the local auto parts store that was the right size and had a 90 bend with enough length on each side. Cut out what I needed and stashed away the rest.
