Where to purchase steering center link?
I am in need of the steering center link for a 67-70 C10 1/2 ton. I have looked online everywhere and no one carries reproductions of this part. Does anyone know of a place?

Re: Where to purchase steering center link?
The best bet is to sign up for premium membership here on this forum, then you can post a want to buy ad in the parts section. I like to buy original good condition used parts when I can, and the members here are great about outfitting me with some pretty great stuff. As a regular non-premium member, keep your eyes open in the parts section of the forum for somebody parting a truck or for somebody listing various parts and they may have one of those center links.

I forgot to mention, your premium membership will probably pay for itself just in the savings you'll see buying the first part or two. It works that way for me.

Re: Where to purchase steering center link?
The center link on these trucks is considered a non wearing item. The only way to get a replacement is used.

Re: Where to purchase steering center link?
I'm thinking it just has tapered holes for tie rod ends and holes on the ends for the pitman arm and the idler. Still "not considered a wear part" doesn't mean that they won't get damaged
I checked a couple of sources including the Filling Station and if they don't show it in their catalog it probably doesn't exist new. Somewhere out in the garage I have a mid 70's TRW chassis parts catalog that might show if it ever was an aftermarket part.

Re: Where to purchase steering center link?
I do not recall seeing them in any of our aftermarket parts books over the years. They were classified as "non wearing part" or "collision part" and there just was not a market for them. Back then, oem was the only way to get them. Thanks, Fred.

Re: Where to purchase steering center link?
That’s crazy. I never imagined it would be so difficult locating one. I am in the middle of a nut and bolt restoration and the center link was missing from the start. I’ve reached out to some wrecking yards and hopefully I get lucky.

This board the only sure place to consistently find NOS and specific used parts you need for 67 to 72 trucks.

Re: Where to purchase steering center link?
Bill’s truck shop lists a “drag link” that looks like the center link. Is the drag link another name for the center link. It appears to be a good used part. They have them listed fo $75.
