Heater control cable replacement

I am replacing the fan switch the bulbs and the cables for my heater controls with A/C. Can anyone tell me if the cables are hard to get to and how to change them out? I am also replacing the arms for the controls because the center one broke in half. I am just afraid to pull it complexly out and then not be able to put everything back together. Thanks for any help.

Re: Heater control cable replacement

I just did the same to mine.

It took some finagling to get the control head out from under the dash with the cables on it.

Seemed easier going back together to install the control head then attach cables.

I have new cables, but didn't install them. Everything moved freely when disconnected.

It may be easier to get under the dash and disconnect the cables first, then remove the control head.

Replacing cables should not be too tough. If nothing else, tape new cable to old then fish through.
