Re: Starting Engine On Frame?

I'm not sure what you mean. The engine should be on the frame.

I'm also not sure why you can't type like a normal human. Try...
Why the attitude when you have nothing to contribute?

Make sure its not in gear. 12v to HEI, jump terminals on starter with a screwdriver or a switch.

Re: Starting Engine On Frame?

I would do like Mike C says and jumper 12v to the HEI and use a remote start button like this:

1. Positive side of the Battery to Starter
2. Negative side of the Battery to the Block
3. Remote start button to the Positive side of the Battery and to the "S" terminal on the starter solenoid.
4. Wire from Positive side of the Battery to BAT terminal on HEI (have an alligator clip on the battery end so you can unhook it easily to kill the engine)
5. Pour a little gas in carb if fuel system is not connected
6. Oil Pressure gauge hooked up or you will coat everything around you with oil
7. You may have to close the choke to get it to start.

Re: Starting Engine On Frame?

You didn't mention the transmission. Don't forget to fill it with oil too.

Thumbs up Re: Starting Engine On Frame?

Make sure you jack the rear wheels up in case. I just went through this with the 68. If it's not hooked up to the rear end it want matter. I had the drive shaft in. I hooked it all up just like it should be.

Last night.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
