Cab weight?? 1 ton hoist??

Will a 1 ton hoist lift a '69 cab and long bed?? Separate of course. 1 ton mark is with the boom all the way in. And I think 1/4 ton fully extended. Thanks.

Re: Cab weight?? 1 ton hoist??

The hoist will work fine . The cab I moved was bare. The only hard part was finding the balance point. I took the short step off with it too but couldn't find my pics. Somebody made a bracket out of wood that bolts to your hoist would make it easier. I just strapped a landscape timber to the hoist and notched out to fit the pinch weld area on the door opening.

Yes what old school said
Did the same except I put a heavy screw in the center of the board and drilled a matching hole in the nose of the lift to keep it from sliding
Make sure the floor is clean you don't want any sudden stops
You can do it yourself but a second person never hurts
Good luck and be safe

Re: Cab weight?? 1 ton hoist??

I move them all the time with 2 - 2x6's with the hoist sandwhiched in between and a long bolt to hold it all together at the front of the door opening works for me . don't get under it .
