gas tank location?
i was thinking the other day after looking at my 55 dodge truck, it has a filler neck in the same location as ours right behind the driver door but the gas tank is not in the cab instead the neck runs down and through the floor and then to a tank under the truck like in the saddle tank location, I was thinking would this be possible with our trucks, i really like the look of the factory filler neck location and it would make it that much better if i could do something like that in order to make it still functional

69-75 IHC pickups do the same thing, although thier in cab filler is in the passenger side. Has a tube that drops through into a saddle tank. The factory aux tank is an almost identical saddle tank for the driver's side that fills through the fender.
It'd take some doing, but I think you could do it. You'll need to find a saddle tank that has the hole in the right position. If you'd like pics of that setup, I can grab some for you within the next week or so. The 69-75 IH cabs are similiar in basic design to the 69-72 so it could give you a reverse view of what you might want to do. |

I don't see why you couldn't do that with these trucks. It would work out pretty good if you wanted to retain the stock look, but did not want the stock tank behind the seat!

YOU ASLO COULD RUN IT THROUGH THE BACK OF THE CAB, THROUGH THE HEAD GATE AAND INTO A FLUSH MOUNT TOOL BOX WITH A TANK IN HALF AND STORAGE IN THE OTHER HALF.
USE FLEX HOSE AND CVC BOOTS TO GO THROUGH THE CAB AND HEAD GATE..........JUST A CRAZY THOUGHT, WHAT DO YOU THINK.?
