Who are you buying new foams from?

I know several people sell the foams. Who are you finding has decent prices and good foams. I read on a lot of threads that the foam is to thick or too dense, or just isn't good quality. Now all of that is what I heard about the bench seats, I haven't read anything on new foam for the buckets. I want to shop for new 71/72 bucket seat foams. Same issues? Any informed ideas for me?

I have some of the same questions, considering new foam for a set of buckets I purchased.
I cut/pasted the following from an Ebay ad on PUI bucket foam:

"There were two different styles of seat foam used for the Bucket Seat Backs (not the bottoms). The Traditional Style used a separate spring assembly attached to the seat frame and the foam went over the top of the spring assembly. A Second Style was also used whereby there was NO separate spring assembly as the foam was molded with the spring assembly already incorporated into it."

So which style is reccomended ??? Which brand ???

Re: Who are you buying new foams from?

I know most of the board vendors that sell foams. What Im looking for is your experience with the foams purchased, did you like, did you hate? Do you feel the pricing was good, or did you find out you could have purchased the same foams cheaper. These are ridiculously priced items, I don't want to blow money if I don't have too.

And since I have zero experience with bucket foams that is why Im asking

Re: Who are you buying new foams from?

Repaired the factory foam with some stuff I had leftover from a bench seat repair kit from LMC (!!). Haven’t got the seats finished but I sat on them and it seems comfortable. I only had to do small repairs and I replaced all the bottom springs with new ones I got off Amazon.

Re: Who are you buying new foams from?

I've redone 100s of seats. Both bench and buckets. PUI foam is firm...very hard. My experience is the bench foam from PUI is so firm you don't sink down at all and sit a good 2/3 inches higher in the truck because of it. Some people like firm some dont. When I do new foam for bench from PUI I reccomend lowered seat brackets from Full Custom Fab to get you back down a couple more inches so your eyes aren't at the top of the windshield. There bucket foam is the same and is very firm but the sport buckets are more comfortable then then bench seat foam but still hard. American Cushion Industries is the high dollar stuff. It's plush and you sink down some. Is it worth it? If you like a plush cushy seat yes. If you are a more firm mattress guy the PUI will probably be ok for you. As far as springs molded into the foam thats how it was from the factory. Springs on the seats then the foam was molded over the seat frames. Aftermarket foam slides over the seat frames and over those existing springs you got out of the original cushions when you gutted the seat like a fish. Any more questions let me know. Sorry for the novel.
