Picked up a cool 67 CST

Picked this up for my son. I have several nice survivors he wanted to cut up and I wouldn’t let him. This one won’t hurt my feelings as bad. Plan on swb, 6.0, 6 speed, new interior and trim, keep patina. I assume that crankcase ventilation is aftermarket?

Re: Picked up a cool 67 CST

Nice!!! I am clueless on what, why or how that ventilation device is. I wonder if it could be some old timey J.C. Whitney contraption? Not even sure from picture what it hooks up to...
I have a 67 C-10, not quite as fancy. It has AC. Been told, here, AC in 67 is not common...

Re: Picked up a cool 67 CST

The ventilation thingy - if we are looking at the same thing - is a cold air intake, quite rare. Don't throw it away.

Ditto, Heard of this option but never actually seen one. What does the hat look like on top of the carburetor?

That truck is absolutely gorgeous by the way.

I had a chance to buy its twin when I was in high school and missed out, still kicking myself.

Re: Picked up a cool 67 CST

It is part of the HD air cleaner option listed on your SPID (K46CA). Having looked at your SPID you have found a pretty cool truck. Someone ordered this one special. Definitely not a dealer order for the lot. Definitely save it or sell it here.
A very cool truck.

Re: Picked up a cool 67 CST

Thanks for the pic. That’s quite a set up! I’m assuming the set up in the left inner fender is an oil bath unit as a pre-filter Then up to the carburetor with a paper filter inside that housing. Plus, taking cleaner fresh air from the cowl. Must be mighty dusty in the area of Texas that truck came from!

Great looking start. A little buff and that would be a beauty.

Re: Picked up a cool 67 CST

Been looking for a longbed that clean, it will be a shame to see it cut up, but to each his own. Just curious where did you find it and if you dont mind me asking what did you have to give for it?

Well that was the show side, I won’t feel too bad. And he won’t ever sell so I’ll let him do his thing to an extent. I gave $5750 in central Texas

Well bought at that price, and I am sure the seller appreciated dealing with someone who knew what it was worth, too.

I'm glad the plan is to keep the patina, its a great color for it.

Re: Picked up a cool 67 CST

Damn that air cleaner is cool. If your son parts with it if he changes endines give me a shot at it please. That would be cool in my 67 build. I would pay fair value. I'm a rare item freak lol.

I was just getting ready to say that. There’s a thread around here somewhere detailing it all. He bought it from some one on here if I remember right.

great find. That air intake is pretty wild I do remember seeing only a couple of those as other posts on this site over the years.

I may have to change gears on the 6.0 swap. Be cool to buy a carb intake and use aftermarket fuel injection and re-use this
