c20 bed
picking my brain have a crazy idea about to unfold with a field find 67 C20. i scored the truck last October (2019) old man bought it in 75 used it as a wood hauler Farm truck he lived on gravel and Iowa winters are rough on vehicles. this truck has been repaired and repainted at some point the patina on it is too good to want to replace parts with small dents. i will be replacing the rockers that had been done and rotted again and the cab corners found screen and bondo filling on one side sure other is similar. the old man had done some fiberglass patch work on the cowl when he mounted a CB type antenna for the Radio and filled the original antenna hole. there was some other spots i noticed similar attempts to repair. the truck looks like it was a brown or maroon originally it was sanded and primed painted a red orange color that has faded to a flat orange color i recently found a 6' dump bed that is almost same dimensions as a step side my truck is a long bed the idea im toying with is as follows. i have a cross box style tool box on the truck that i want to keep im thinking a headache rack with integrated exhaust system will happen mount provisions for my cross box at its current height with side cabinets like a utility body under it goining through to other side with either one cross drawer that slides out either way even a work bench that slides out. im torn on getting 67 or more likely 68 up re-pop fenders so it looks like it could have been there all along. i like the newer skirted flatbeds i love step sides was lookingn at 4k to build one from new parts plus shipping freight and i like the looks of these trucks with utility bodies more sharing my thoughts on this than anything. if anyone has done anything similar thoughts or ideas on my next mission on this old girl would be appreciated
