Re: Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

I've used both the "stock" all metal type and the Fel-Pro type. Both have worked well.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Check the exhaust studs and nuts...

These have a bad issue with broken studs causing leaks....

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Are the multi layer stock type better for headers or the other squishy style?

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

My LS in my 70 burned out header exhaust gaskets in a little over a year. I replaced with a 'good' brand and they leaked.

I then replaced with Percy's High Performance Percy Seal-4-Good. 'Problem' with these - instructions say to tork 3 times. Over 3 years later still no leaks. Lit say they are reusable - don't know about this.

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

I was gonna mention those but I have not run them on an LS. I have had them on both my trucks with headers as well as the collectors and have been amazed at how long Percy's last with no leaks. BTW, you read the instructions?

Re: Exhaust Manifold Gaskets

Remflex header gaskets have pretty good reviews. I have a set but haven't installed them yet.
