Help with New Edelbrock AVS 2 install
I got my AVS today and took the holley off, figure I would try something different and see how it does. I can not figure out how to hook up the Auto kick down cable and it seems my throttle cable is a little to long. Can someone tell me if I need some kind of an adapter to be able to hook these up. My old holley carb had the throttle and transmission cable hook to the same arm, along with a return spring. I just cant figure out how to get this hooked up. I figured it would just be a drop in , if I do need an adapter I would have ordered it then. Any help would be really appreciated. Thank you.
I also have the 1 inch spacer I was installing at the same time, but even with that off instill have the same problem. Ughhhhh I cant if someone needs different pictures to have a better idea I can take them. Just really need some help |

Re: Help with New Edelbrock AVS 2 install
I had to pull the kickdown stud off a Quadrajet and get a Edelbrock Dogde part, cut and fab it for install.
It was the least expensive route to go. Give me a few I will get a pic up for you. Here is a pic of the Edelbrock part I cut down and fabricated. Last edited by toolboxchev; 08-19-2020 at 09:27 PM. |

Re: Help with New Edelbrock AVS 2 install
Here is how I did my 1405 years ago. It is sitting on a 1" spacer. Out of the box, it didn't work. Enough years ago I don't remember what, if any, additional parts I ordered vs scavenging from the old Q-Jet. May have involved drilling one or more holes for the throttle and trans studs.

I used a bracket similar to this one and had no issues lining everything up: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/edl-8041

Re: Help with New Edelbrock AVS 2 install
You guys are awesome! When I get home from the oil field this is the first thing I will try. I got it hooked up to work right before I leave but it is by far not the correct fix. I appreciate everyone's help.
