I have a similar 72 truck that is 100% rustfree Highlander that has a wrecked frame on the passenger front , Black too that I have thought about cutting but cant do it . Yours I definitely would not cut , its a Beauty as is .

It seems to me like it would be a great candidate for a new No Limit or Roadster Shop chassis, either long or short! Get it down in the weeds and do it right if the $$$ is not a concern.

Going to keep it? It is yours, make it what you want. If selling is probable in future leave it alone. Then again if you are doing most of the work yourself. You may come out okay depending on how much you value your time.
