Fuel pump wiring and transmission question
I’m in the process of installing a rebuilt 1991 350 TBI motor and a 1989 rebuilt 700R4 transmission in my 1984 C10. I currently have a 305 with 700R4 that is original to the truck. I bought an 87 FI tank with an 87 in tank pump. My question is, the grey wire runs to the power, can I connect the purple wire to the wire that connects to my old sending unit? One more dumb question, will the yoke from my 84 700R4 work on the 1989 700R4? Thank you in advance and I hope everyone is ready for Christmas today. Merry Christmas.

Re: Fuel pump wiring and transmission question
Curious, do you have dual tanks or just a single? Either way, yes you can hook that purple wire to the old sending unit wire and your fuel level should read correctly. And as long as your spline count is the same the yoke should work too.

Re: Fuel pump wiring and transmission question
I only have a single tank on the driver side. Thank you. I’m going to start tomorrow morning and hope to have this done soon. I have 3/8 braided fuel line and 6an fittings. I also have a stand alone harness for the TBI motor and a K code 700R4 from a 1989 truck. Oh, I’m using a vortec style serpentine belt system. I will post more pictures in a little bit. Waiting on my kids to come over to open gifts.

Re: Fuel pump wiring and transmission question
Excuse my mess. I’m about to clean up before I get started. I’ve been doing all my prep work the last 2 days.
