Painting door panels
Freshing up the door panels on the 72. Painters tape does not like to stick to the stainless strip on the interior panel. Can I just spray over it and wipe it off clean with mineral spirits? Any other ideas?
Thanks |

Re: Painting door panels
If the tape is not sticking it is not clean enough. I would not use mineral spirits to clean because they are petroleum based. Look for a good pre- paint cleaner that's safe for plastic. I have used soap and water and a soft brush. Then followed with alcohol to wipe down. Plastic can never be to clean if your going to paint it.

Re: Painting door panels
Take the inserts off paint and reinstall. You will be much happier with the finished product.

How does it come off? I was looking at that but didn't want to tear it up. I'm good at destroying things

Re: Painting door panels
Denatured alcohol safely removes dye/paint from plastic.
