Anti-lock brakes in 72?
Is it possible to put anti-lock brakes on a 72? This guy i know is parting out a 2000 escalade, and i just thought it would be cool to somehow have anti-lock brakes on the my truck.

if there is a will there is a way...and i'm pretty sure i've never seen this mod before. but really, why bother? you could spend money in a lot of other areas, unless you have an unlimited budget. just my 2 cents.

Yep, it can be done and I have seen a '72 SWB Cheyenne Super at the Street Machine Nationals in Springfield Mo. a couple of years ago that had this added on to it. I can't remember if I took pics or not, but I will look!

Up here in the winter the ABS brakes are working everyday. I don't know about high speed braking but for low speed I am sure I could stop in less distance without them.

I remember the first time i drove a vehicle with ABS......scared the crap out of me when the brake pedal started pulsating, lol.
Althought i'm sure it is better than just having them lock up....they just don't "feel" right for me....

I believe Bendix produced an aftermarket setup for most vehicles around 1987-1990 time frame, so adapting it to a disk brake system should not be much of an added hurdle if you can get one of their systems.
